SUMMARY:Forged One Hundred Dollar Bill
DESCRIPTION:On March 9th\, 2020 a forged $100.00 bill was passed by unknown persons at a local business in Chino Valley\, Arizona. One of the employees noted the $100 dollar bill appeared to be splitting at the corner and that initially caught her attention. Further inspection showed that the watermark on the bill appeared to be faked through the use of a stamp which was lightly stamped on the rear of the bill to appear to look real. \n\n\n\nThe security thread was also missing from the bill indicating that it was forged. The bill was able to pass a forgery marker test typically used by vendors to test whether or not a bill is real. This leads officers to believe that the bill may have been washed and reprinted on real currency paper. The bill appears to be an older version of the $100 dollar bill that does not include the larger Washington head and copper ink well. If you have someone try to pass one of these please contact law enforcement as soon as possible.
