Mary, Mary, Quite Contrary: The Life and Times of Mary Colter

Phippen Master Docent Marsha Painton will be presenting an entertaining and informative lecture titled, ?Mary, Mary, quite contrary? at 1pm on Saturday June 28, 2014 at the Phippen Museum.  Ms. Painton will be examining the life and times of architect Mary Elizabeth Jane Colter.  Marsha will be taking a look at the three phases of Mary?s life, Mary the Designer who arguably defined South Western style; Mary the Architect who created some of Arizona?s most iconic landmarks and finally Mary the Curmudgeon who was always extremely difficult to work with.
