Join Heritage Park Zoological Sanctuary this summer for an exciting and fun experience at Summer Zoo Camp. This year?s schedule is: Week 1: June 9 - 13 How did They Do That?: Animals can do some incredible things! As engineers they build houses, construct dams, weave nets, dig burrows and carry heavy loads. As chemists they make glue, poisons and repellents. As farmers they make honey and grow crops. Come along and get your hands dirty as we discover the amazing things animals do with their paws, beaks, tongues and tails! Week 2: June 16 - 20 Animal Myth Busters: Can turtles come out of their shells? Are snakes slimy? Can owls spin their head all the way around? Campers will investigate these misconceptions and myths as they separate fact from fiction. Week 3: June 23 - 27 I Like to Move it!: Dip, dive, duck, dodge! Soar, swoop, scurry, scamper! Lunge, lope, lumber, leap! Animals have many ways of moving and for many reasons! Dash to the zoo and jump into this camp as we explore animal movement through tours, games, activities, and crafts! Week 4: July 7 - 11 Feeding Frenzy: Unravel the food web as we discover how every animal in an ecosystem relies on one another. From soaring birds of prey to blooming flowers, all living organisms play a vital role in the environment. Do you know what your role is? Week 5: July 14 - 18 Cat Crazy: Are you cat crazy? Can you swim like a tiger or purr like a kitten? Find out how Zoo cats are just like our kitties at home and discover feline fundamentals of the cat?s world. Week 6: July 21 - 25 Wildlife Unplugged: Ever wonder how to track an animal or spot a bird as it soars above? Learn all that and more as you uncover the wild side of your own backyard. Each day is packed with activities. Children will create animal art, tour the Sanctuary, meet live animals up close and play some fun animal games during this exciting week! Hurry now to call for your reservation, limited spots available! Camp runs from 8:30am to 3:00pm Monday- Friday. Age groups are 6-8 year olds and 9-12 year olds.
