The Heroes Among Us Awards honor those who have served in uniform and continue to give back through volunteering. There are also categories for spouses and an organization. This year marks the 7th annual event. Members of the community are invited to nominate a veteran or first responder, spouse, or organization making a difference in the quad cities area through September 20. The awards ceremony, MC'd by Prescott Fire Chief Holger Durre and Prescott Police Chief Amy Bonney, will include a keynote speaker, delicious BBQ and dessert, live and silent auction, photo opps with mini Highland cows and donkeys, and of course, the main event, the awards presentation. Sponsorship opportunities are available. All proceeds benefit the heroes and horses of Bethany's Gait Ranch in Chino Valley. Bethany's Gait Ranch rescues, rehabilitates and restores the lives of military (active & veteran), first responders, their family members, and horses in need.
