May close early if no surgery is scheduled.
Prescott Outpatient Surgical Center (POSC pronounced “pos'e” like a sheriff’s posse) is the largest, longest established ambulatory surgical center (ASC) in the Quad-Cities. In the past 30 years, more than 108,000 surgical procedures have been performed at POSC, saving local patients and insurance companies an estimated $150,000,000 in an efficient, professional, safe and friendly setting. POSC is licensed and monitored by the Department of Health Services, and voluntarily has chosen to undergo an additional accreditation process through the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC).
POSC is a surgery center which offers patients selected surgical procedures performed outside a hospital. Patients having procedures at POSC go home the same day, but a growing trend is for ASC’s to have overnight recovery rooms. Since their inception in 1986, POSC has offered exceptional customer service and quality while reducing costs compared to hospitals that do the same procedures.
